As Co-Owner and therapist of DSPT, Dr. Diamond is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University School of Physicians and Surgeons and his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Touro College.
Jon is one of a select few physical therapists who is certified in teaching the Schroth technique and has a special interest in treating patients with scoliosis in both nonoperative and postoperative patients. He continues to pursue continuing education and is certified to practice the Active Release Technique in the upper extremity, lower extremity and spine. Additionally, he has taken multiple courses in the selective functional movement assessment (SFMA), the functional movement screen (FMS) and continues to maintain his certification as an orthopedic certified specialist (OCS). He served on the Medical Team for the 2012 New York City Ironman Triathlon and was able to treat numerous amateur and professional athletes thereby helping them maintain their ability to compete at their highest level.
Jonathan takes a hands-on approach to treating his patients, blending manual therapy with therapeutic exercises to optimize patient recovery .
As Co-Owner and therapist of DSPT, Dr. Schultz is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist.
He received his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Touro College and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University. His specialty is rehabilitating orthopedic and sports injuries with a particular interest in treatment of concussion and athletic hip injuries. Pete is certified in ART (Active Release Techniques), Graston Technique, and many other advanced manual therapy techniques. He has educated hundreds of fitness professionals, has lectured on Anatomy and Physiology and Musculoskeletal Systems at New York University. Pete served on the Medical Team for the 2012 New York City Ironman Triathlon where he was able to help treat amateur and professional athletes compete at their highest level. Pete is also a certified Medical Provider through the Titleist Performance Institute and has trained and rehabilitated golfers at every skill level. Pete has an interest in the treatment of BPPV/ Vertigo and has taken advanced course work in vestibular rehabilitation. Using vestibular rehabilitation techniques, vision therapy, and other treatments, he has successfully rehabilitated patients with dizziness as it relates to post concussion syndrome. In addition to treating patients at Dynamic Sports Pete sees patients at all stages of recovery from concussion at The Hospital for Special Surgery as part of a multidisciplinary concussion team.
Iwalani is a graduate of New York University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005. She subsequently received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree with honors from New York University in 2009.
As part of her Doctorate degree, Iwalani completed clinical rotations and observations treating a variety of orthopedic, pediatric, acute, cardiopulmonary, integumentary and neurological conditions in inpatient/hospital, outpatient/private practice settings located in Hawaii, West Africa, and New York City.
Prior to becoming a member of the Dynamic Sports physical therapy team, Iwalani was a therapist for 3 years at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, NY. While at Burke, Iwalani was involved in the multi-disciplinary management of patients in the Subacute/Nursing Home facilities, Single/Double Joint replacement and Amputee Unit, Cardiopulmonary Unit, and Traumatic Brain Injury/Spinal Cord Injury/Stroke Units. In addition to her experience at Burke, Iwalani has a comprehensive pediatric background from working in the NYC public and special education school systems through the Board of Education, and at outpatient Sensory Integration Gyms through Keep Children Moving. Recently, she has taken courses through Herman & Wallace for the evaluation and treatment of both male and female pelvic floor dysfunction.
Iwalani's versatility in conjunction with her educational background equips her to holistically treat a variety of conditions, patient populations and age groups. Notably, she is Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) and First Aid, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Beginners Pilates Mat Certified.
Bridget received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Hunter College, and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Middlebury College with a major in Bio-Psych and Spanish. She has taken continuing education courses with emphasis on functional training, manual techniques, and yoga therapy. Bridget also has her yoga teacher training certification, which she received in India. While at Hunter Bridget performed research on specific gait training for people with multiple sclerosis, which she presented with colleagues at a national PT convention.
Bridget combines manual therapy with corrective and functional exercises in order to optimize movement and decrease pain. Having experienced multiple knee injuries herself, she understands first hand that there's an emotional aspect of physical injuries, and she seeks to empower her patients so they can confidently return to their active lifestyles.
Bridget played team sports through college and currently practices the Brazilian martial art of Capoeria.
Alan received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York University and his Bachelors from Binghamton University, where he played collegiate club baseball. Additionally, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, which he uses to bridge the gap for patients to return to sports following rehab. As a certified running coach, he prepares runners for marathon training and also serves annually on the NYC Marathon medical team at the finish line. Also, as a baseball and rehab enthusiast, he stays involved with local high school baseball players to reduce shoulder and elbow injuries.
He has taken many continuing education classes in the areas of orthopedic and sports medicine demonstrating a dedication to growing as a professional. He has completed courses such as Functional Range Conditioning and Postural Restoration. Using the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), he balances a patient's need for mobility and stability in order to achieve optimal function. He is also certified in vestibular therapy which he uses to treat patients with BPPV and other vestibular disorders involving imbalance and dizziness.
Alan's philosophy entails complete patient wellness and treatment with the goal of making his patients autonomous and active in their care. He believes in providing personalized care by understanding the role of a physical therapist in improving patients' quality of life.
Mila Mintsis holds a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture. Her specialties include Orthopedic and Sports Medicine. Mila treats a comprehensive patient population, which includes athletes, dancers, pre and post-surgical conditions, chronic pain patients and the general population who may require her skills to achieve complete recovery and return to optimal health.
Mila utilizes Systemic Dry Needling, Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM)/Trigger Point Acupuncture, Neuro-Functional Acupuncture, Japanese (KM) and Chinese Styles (TCM) of acupuncture in her treatment approach. In addition, she uses Vacuum Therapy, Western Herbology, Medical Aromatherapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Dietary counseling according to Chinese Medicine principles to achieve maximum results.
Mila is a big advocate in the field for an integrative approach to patient care. She strongly believes that combining therapies and techniques provide the most thorough and well-rounded approach in addressing a broad spectrum of patient needs. She collaborates with doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors and massage therapists to maximize outcomes.
Mila has worked with several Corporate Wellness Programs. She has also contributed to several publications on the topics of Chinese Medicine and Stress Management.
